About Us
Hi, I’m Harper Lane
47 years old, currently living in a cozy suburb just outside of Portland, Oregon. My kitchen is usually a symphony of sizzling pans, timer beeps, and the occasional dog bark or kid shout and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Cooking wasn’t always my career. For years, I worked in advertising, burning the candle at both ends while trying to get dinner on the table for my husband and two kids. Takeout was our lifeline more often than I care to admit. But something changed when I inherited my grandmother’s cast iron skillet. That old pan held the taste of her Sunday roasts, her peach cobbler, her buttery scrambled eggs. It stirred something in me.
I started small Sunday night dinners, then school lunch bento boxes, then gradually meal prepping for the week ahead. What began as necessity evolved into passion. I enrolled in night classes at the local culinary school, not to change careers, but to cook better for my family. Ironically, that detour changed everything. Fast forward a few years, and here I am: a private family chef and meal planning consultant specializing in wholesome, time saving recipes for busy parents just like you.
I get it. Between soccer practice, work deadlines, and the never ending laundry pile, dinner can feel like another chore on a never ending list. That’s why I focus on meals that come together fast, freeze beautifully, and taste like a warm hug at the end of a chaotic day. I believe in butter and shortcuts, in batch cooking on Sundays, and in using store bought rotisserie chicken without guilt.
Not every meal I make is a hit just ask my kids about my infamous beet and kale meatballs. But most nights, we gather around the table, even if it’s just for 20 minutes, and those moments? They’re everything. Cooking has become less about perfection and more about connection.
So whether you’re looking to spice up your weeknight rotation or just trying to get a decent meal on the table between Zoom calls and math homework, I’m here to help. We’re in this together, one meal at a time.
